On behalf of the KCCU Board of Directors, we would like to present to some, and introduce to others, Mr. Brandon Richardson, as Kansas City Credit Union’s interim President.
This temporary appointment comes at the resignation of our current President, Mr. Nick Richmond.
Nick has exceeded our expectations in many areas and has grown the credit union substantially in his short tenure. Although we are saddened to see him go, we understand that there are opportunities in life that are hard to pass up. We wish nothing but the best for Nick and wish him well in all of his new endeavors!
Some of you may already be familiar with Brandon from our annual credit union meetings.
Brandon J. Richardson is a seasoned professional with a solid foundation in the banking industry – over 13 years of experience, 11 of which have been dedicated to the Credit Union sector. A graduate of Greensboro College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration & Economics, Brandon commenced his career as a teller at Truliant Federal Credit Union in Greensboro, NC, before advancing to leadership roles such as Vice President, and also Branch Operations & Compliance, at Kansas City Credit Union.
Currently serving as the Interim CEO/President at the Kansas City Credit Union, Brandon’s expertise spans various facets of credit union operations. In 2023, Brandon achieved the honor of being elected Vice President of his graduating class at the Southwest CUNA Management School, set to conclude in 2025. Additionally, the Credit Union’s Association, Cornerstone League, handpicked him to take on the role of Young Professionals Advisor (YPA). In this capacity, Brandon actively contributes to both the Events Committee and Recruitment Committees, showcasing his dedication and leadership within the credit union community.
In addition to his notable corporate accomplishments, Brandon is passionately engaged in community service. He holds the role of pastor at New Ransom Jesus Church in Kansas City, serves as an Executive Board Member for New Ransom Temple, Inc., and contributes his leadership as a board member of the YMCA of Greater Kansas City – Linwood. Through these diverse roles, Brandon exemplifies his commitment to both professional success and making a positive impact in the community.
A dedicated family man, he resides in Kansas City with his wife, Danielle, and their six children. In his leisure time, Brandon enjoys golfing, bowling, tennis, writing poetry and blogs, as well as continuous self-improvement through leadership literature.
