More about our winner, Dwight Wynne

Those who know Dwight best say he has a gift for making others feel comfortable, he’s easy to talk to, a good listener, and has a calm energy about him. Dwight believes in leading with empathy, whether he’s helping a patient, checking in on a friend, or assisting at a community event.

Dwight plans to attend Prairie View A&M University, in Prairie View, Texas this Fall. He will major in Nursing and will be working toward his BSN.

Dwight loves to assist and serve others, and his main goal in continuing his education is to gain the additional knowledge and skills to make a real impact in the healthcare field. He currently works as a CNA at John Knox Village in Lees Summit, which has given him the opportunity to care for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Whether he is helping someone get dressed, helping with meals, or simply offering a listening ear, he has learned that showing kindness and patience can make a powerful impact.

Outside of his CNA work, Dwight stayed involved in school and local community events through the Student Government Association (SGA). He planned events that brought students together, promoted school spirit, and raised awareness about key issues like mental health.

Dwight says, “I believe that when people feel connected and supported, they are more likely to succeed not just academically but personally. One of my favorite projects involved organizing a student appreciation day where we highlighted acts of kindness, shared uplifting messages, and made sure everyone felt seen and valued.”

Kansas City Credit Union wishes you the best of luck with your college career and future, Dwight!
