With Overdraft Privilege, if you overdraw your checking account, Kansas City Credit Union may cover your shortfall up to $500 instead of returning items unpaid. This means that if you make a mistake on your account balance and overspend in error, Overdraft Privilege may save you the embarrassment and inconvenience of having an item returned unpaid, as well as additional merchant fees.
We think you are going to appreciate having Overdraft Privilege because:
It’s simple, convenient and confidential
You do not need to do anything to activate this service
If you don’t use it, it won’t cost you anything
Your Overdraft Privilege will be available for checks, ACH transactions, preauthorized automatic transfers and online bill pay. However, we will need your consent (opt-in) to authorize Overdraft Privilege for ATM and everyday debit card transactions.
Call the credit union – 816.861.5700 – and let a member service representative know that you are calling to opt-in.
Do I have Overdraft Privilege on my Checking Account?
Call the credit union to find out if Overdraft Privilege has been added to your account. If it has not, find out how you can become eligible.
*The eligibility requirements for maintaining Overdraft Privilege are listed in the Overdraft Privilege Disclosure available at the credit union. With Overdraft Privilege, we will generally pay your overdraft items up to $500. Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits, or you have too many overdrafts. You will be charged our normal overdraft or return item fee of $30 for each item that is presented, and you must bring your account to a positive balance within 30 days. If you have any questions, call us at 816.861.5700. In the event that you would not like to have this valuable service on your account, simply contact the credit union and we will provide you with an opt-out form to complete and return to us.
