Many vehicle owners often do not think about their vehicle’s maintenance until it is too late. But not you! You understand how important it is to make sure your vehicle stays in tip-top shape throughout the year. And with Summer approaching, you understand that extreme changes in temperature can affect the way your car runs especially the older it gets. To help keep your vehicle running this summer checkout our Summer Car Maintenance Checklist:
Check your tires. Unbalanced tires can cause road vibration leading to premature tire wear and wear on your vehicle’s suspension.
Make sure your cooling systems work properly. With warmer temperatures, it becomes easier for your vehicle to overheat.
De-Winterize. Trade snow tires for all-season tires and change windshield wipers if needed.
Check your air filter. Your air filter should be replaced every 12,000 miles to ensure optimal performance.
Check your brakes. If your brakes are hard to depress or need to be pumped in order to work properly, get them checked.
Get your battery inspected. Your vehicle’s battery may fail in the Summer due to overuse in the Winter. And remember, the older your vehicle the more important getting your battery checked becomes.
Maintain your air conditioning. It’s going to be hot. You do not want to be stuck in a hot car! If your air conditioner is not working properly it could be a leak in the system. It is not too late to have a professional take a look.
Don’t forget your regularly scheduled maintenance too! Oil changes, checking your hoses, etc all help lead to a longer life for your vehicle.
